When I get home from work I'll try the Fiber test.

The old router was a Verizon unit which was probably close to 5 years old...I don't think I've had FIOS quite 5 years I can't tell you exactly abou the old router because I had to send it back. The new router was supplied by Verizon. The tech who installed everything had to run new ethernet into my house...said the existing coax could stay but wasn't fast enough for gigabit.Before he left he did a speeed test using wireless and ethernet, and seemend to think waht I was seeing was all I could expect. He blamed it all on my computer, wchich is only 3 months old and has an AC-version 802 card in it.
